LAKE PERRIS UPDATE
Haven’t heard much about the trout bite at Lake Perris? The fish have moved deep with the hot weather and the deep-water specialists are scoring on quality holdovers up to three pounds. On Tuesday this week, Bob Ghossian, Tom Roberts, Paul Ringdahl, and Bob Camp, all from Riverside, were trolling with lead core at 10 colors or with downriggers set at 30 feet. The four anglers were fishing with Needlefish at the dam and all four had limits of rainbows, with the trout averaging from 2 1/2 to three pounds each.Saturday 28 June 2008 - 15:44:11 by Terrence

San Vicente Reservoir Closing Soon
The City of San Diego and the owner/operator of the reservoir have confirmed that the reservoir will close sometime in August due to lowering water levels. In order to prepare for the upcoming San Vicente Dam Raise Project, the reservoir's water levels have been lowered every month since April. The goal is to relieve the pressure on the dam from the water during the construction. As soon as the levels get too low for anyone to use the boat launch ramp, the reservoir will close. That is predicted to happen in August. The water being taken out of the reservoir has been used to fulfill San Diego's general water demands. In the meantime the lake will remain on its summer schedule, Thursdays through Sundays. Lake information: 619-465-3474 or www.ci.san-diego.ca.us/water/.
